This is a mid century smaller, colorfully painted Traditional Cuckoo Clock. The movement has been rebuilt and new hands placed. The clock has a fine sound.
Look carefully at the photos, as the clock, befitting it’s age, has had breaks repaired both prior to our receiving it and after. All are solid and not truly visible on the wall.
If you are charmed by the unique color scheme of this clock—-as well as its age—-it is a fine opportunity to have one.
This clock is as built somewhere around the 1950s. The movement is a countwheel movement that is typical of that time period.
The original bellows still work and have no tears. At some point they may need to be recovered, but they are working as they should, as seen in the provided video.
The case, at some point in its life fell off the wall and had been repaired, as pointed out in several photos. Al hairlines and cracks are solid. The only case repair done here was of the top trim. It had been adhered to the top of the case. We removed it and touched it up very slightly.
While not perfect, it really is a beautiful, one of a kind cuckoo clock. These small imperfections are difficult to notice when it’s on the wall.
Since this is a countwheel movement, it is imperative to stop at every 1/2 and full hour when changing or setting the time so it does not go out of sync.
